The menu that started it all. The love story that lasted.

Five courses. One love story. Thirty two years later, it still works.

Long before there was Darling Glebe, there was a chef and a girl in a New York kitchen.
He was sous chef at the Royalton Hotel.
She was a vegetarian.

And then he served her beef tartare covered with caviar.

The rest is romance. Thirty two years, one restaurant and a very good martini later.

This Valentine’s Day, we’re recreating the dishes Jeff cooked to win Julia’s heart and woo the woman he would marry. All with a Darling Glebe twist.

Expect one foie gras mishap with strawberries where there should have been grapes. Pressed watermelon with tuna so silky it sings. And one perfect chocolate fondant worthy of a second date.

Three decades later, the menu still holds.
